How It Started

Our Story

We founded Boutique Souk in 2005 out of a love for Morocco and a desire to share the best of the city’s secrets and experiences with friends and friends of friends who wanted to visit. Our backgrounds in hotel, hospitality and marketing industries helped us create a team of staff and partners to unlock the best of what the city had to offer.

Soon we were organising private travel, parties and then weddings for guests of all cultures, nationalities and ages. The business has grown organically along with Marrakech’s popularity as a destination and the opportunities our clients have given us to constantly push the boundaries of the fantastical with the events and experiences we create.

Founder

Rosena Charmoy

Rosena swopped a marketing career in London for sunny Marrakech, setting up Boutique Souk in 2005. She leads the creative and planning team and thrives on getting to know clients personalities and tastes to create truly bespoke events. When asked which was her favourite wedding event, she says it’s easy to choose her own wedding to business partner Fred, but her event highlights include watching Lionel Ritchie perform at a private wedding and curating a bespoke ballet for a dinner party for Chanel.

Founder

Fred Charmoy

Fred’s background in the Paris hotel industry and his own experiences as a Riad hotel owner in Marrakech make him well equipped in managing venues, hotels and partners. Well known for his endless energy and enthusiasm, his tenacity is employed to ensure flawless execution as operations director. His favourite part of the job is food, wine and wedding cake tasting and his least enjoyable task is managing snake charmers.

Event and Supply Manager

With a background in hotel commercial management, Marrakech-born Zahira finds and manages venue partners, through her wide network of local contacts.

Assia Mandri

Event Manager & Gift Genie

With a Masters degree in Event Management from Kedge Business School, Agadir born Assia is passionate about event, wedding planning and production. She loves sourcing fun decor details, goodie bags and wedding favours.

Rosie

Creative Genie

With a first class BA in Illustration, Devon born Rosie designs beautiful paper goods and ensures all details are devilishly designed.

Patrick Monnot

Head of Production

French born, design lover, Patrick works with local artisans and craftsmen to create bespoke decor items and installations that put the wow factor in our events.

Ahmed Azelmed

Production Manager

Ahmed and his trusty elves are the team behind the thousands of candles, lanterns and lamps that add the Marrakech magic to our events.

Siham Bouamama

Office Manager

Siham worked in Canada and Europe before returning to her native Marrakech to join our team and keep us all on our toes in the office.
