Aussi Bride Jessica married her English gentleman fiancé Darren in an elegant yet adventurous 4 day weekend in Marrakech.
A rooftop drinks and canapés ice-breaker for guests travelling from the four corners of the globe was hosted on the rooftop of Riad El Fenn in the city’s ancient medina on Friday. Day 2 guests joined a caravan of 120 camels trekking into the desert where they dismounted in an oasis camp for music, cocktails and a romantic tented dinner. Late night dancing ensued with DJ Imad, under the stars surrounded by open fires and twinkling lanterns and brasiero.
The glamorous wedding ceremony and reception was hosted at the Al Hambra inspired Ksar Char Bagh, Relais and Chateaux hotel. An emotional, tear filled afternoon ceremony in an ornate, flower filled courtyard gave way to a joyous garden party style cocktail reception with dancing to a Cuban band, oyster and Champagne stations and cocktails served by pro mixologists.
Dinner was revealed in the hotel’s light filled orangery with musical performances and speeches throughout. Guests dined under lush hanging floral gardens with LED light, the tables laden with blush floral and majorelle blue candles and accents, a nod to Yves Saint Laurent’s history in Marrakech. After the cutting of the gold leaf and ruffles wedding cake, curtains were pulled to reveal a bespoke club with full Ibiza Orchestra Band, DJ’s, Percussionists and of course a huge disco ball.
The pool party brunch on Easter Monday featured a traditional egg hunt as well as DJ and a much needed barista station to boost the flagging party goers.
